Seven Post Offices in Kapurthala division to remain open on Sundays and postal holidays for Rakhi Mail booking and Aadhar services

PHAGWARA: To facilitate the public during the forthcoming Raksha Bandhan festival and ensure the timely delivery of Rakhi consignments, the Department of Posts, Kapurthala Division has made special arrangements by keeping seven major post offices open on Sundays and postal holidays from July 15 to August 28, 2026, between 9 AM and 4:30 PM.

Providing this information, Superintendent of Post Offices, Kapurthala Division, Vikas Sharma said that the decision had been taken in view of the anticipated surge in Rakhi mail during the festive season. He said that customers would be able to book Rakhi mail and other postal articles during the special opening hours to ensure their timely delivery across the country before the festival.

Besides postal services, Aadhaar enrolment and Aadhaar update services will also be available at all the designated post offices.

The seven post offices covered under this arrangement are Kapurthala Head Post Office, Phagwara Head Post Office, LPU Campus Post Office (UCNN PO), Sultanpur Lodhi Sub Post Office, Nurmahal Sub Post Office, Kartarpur Sub Post Office and Nakodar Sub Post Office.

Sharma appealed to the public to book their Rakhi articles well in advance to avoid the last-minute rush and ensure timely delivery to their loved ones. He said these special arrangements had been made to provide greater convenience to customers and ensure smooth postal operations during the festive season. He also directed all concerned postal officials to provide prompt, courteous and efficient service to every customer and ensure the effective implementation of these special arrangements.
