PHAGWARA: The Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes has sought a fresh follow up report from the Kapurthala police in connection with a complaint filed against Punjab Congress President and former minister Amrinder Singh Raja Warring for allegedly making derogatory remarks about the late Union Minister S. Buta Singh.

Commission Chairman Jasbir Singh Garhi told The Tribbune on Monday evening that the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kapurthala has submitted a status report to the Commission detailing the progress in the case. The police informed the Commission that the complainant, Sarabjot Singh, has recorded his statement, and the media record related to the alleged remark has been obtained for forensic examination.

The Commission, taking cognizance of the matter, has directed the police to submit a follow-up report by November 19 and to continue furnishing weekly progress updates. During the Commission’s proceedings, a video presented by Pratap Singh Bajwa’s counsel was also placed on record as part of the defense submission.
