Punjab Government Provides Compensation to Families Affected by Liquor Tragedy in 48 hours - Dhaliwal

AMRITSAR: Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal today distributed cheques of Rs 10 lakh each to the families of those who died after consuming toxic liquor in villages of the Majitha constituency. These Cheques were distributed to the families of the victims, as announced by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Mr Dhaliwal said that Punjab Police has arrested 16 individuals connected to the case, including some from Delhi and Ludhiana. He said that The government is providing free medical treatment to those hospitalized and will grant them financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each.

Minister has assured justice and strict action against all culprits involved in the tragedy. Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that "No amount of money can compensate for the loss of a family's breadwinner, but it is the government's responsibility to do whatever possible to support the surviving members." "We will take strict action against all those involved in drug trafficking, including confiscation of their properties."

Meanwhile In the recent major incident of poisonous liquor in the villages of Majitha constituency, there has been news of relief that six victims of this accident who had reached Guru Nanak Dev Hospital Amritsar for treatment have been discharged from the hospital after recovering by the doctors today.

The lucky ones include Kewal Singh of village Mardi Kalan, Guljar Singh of Mardi Kalan, Raman Kumar of Thariewal, Mulakh Raj of Patalpuri, Subeg Singh of Bhangwan and Tarsem Singh of Bhangali Kalan.

On this occasion, Guru Nanak Dev Medical College Superintendent Dr. Karanjit Singh, DSP Maninderpal Singh, Assistant Public Relations Officer Yogesh Kumar reached the spot to inquire about the condition of the victims. All these patients who were well aware of the terrible consequences of the said accident, thanked the Punjab government officials, who took them out of their homes on time and brought them to the hospital and got them treated.
