AMRITSAR: A high-level coordination committee consisting of various representative Sikh personalities and dignitaries has been constituted by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to commemorate the centenary celebrations to be held in November 2025 in connection with the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, Bhai Dayala Ji and the 350th Guruship anniversary of the tenth Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
The committee formed by SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami includes SGPC President , Sukhbir Singh Badal, President Shiromani Akali Dal, Raghujit Singh Senior Vice President Shiromani Committee, Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa Head Damdami Taksal, Baba Nihal Singh Harian Velan Head Tarna Dal, Baba Balbir Singh 96th Croreri Head Shiromani Panth Akali Buddha Dal, Baba Avtar Singh Sursingh Head Dal Baba Bidhi Chand, Baba Sewa Singh Khadoor Sahib, Baba Kashmir Singh Karseva Bhuriwale, senior Akali leaders S. Balwinder Singh Bhunder, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, S. Maheshinder Singh Grewal and S. Gulzar Singh Ranike, Baba Jagjit Singh Harkhowal Wale, Baba Major Singh Sodhi Dasmesh Tarna Dal, Baba Jagjit Singh Lopon, Swami Ji Sukki Choi Wale Hoshiarpur, Sikh scholar Dr. Balkar Singh, Dr. Inderjit Singh Gogoani, Dr. Kehar Singh, Dr. Amarjit Singh, Dr. Paramvir Singh and Dr. Harbhajan Singh Dehradun, S. Gurmeet Singh Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Principal Baljit Singh Sahibzada Jujhar Singh Missionary College Chowta Kalan, S. Kulwant Singh Mannan, Chief Secretary Shiromani Committee and Secretary Dharam Prachar Committee (Coordinator) have been included.
SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that while this committee will give its opinion to make the various events related to the centenary effective, it will also be active for the participation of prominent personalities and religious leaders of the country and the world.
He said that the SGPC has initiated events dedicated to the centenary across the country, under which a grand event will be held at Gurdwara Moti Bagh Sahib, Patiala on JULY 5 and 6.
Similarly, Gurmat events, seminars and Nagar Kirtans will also be organized in different parts of the country.
Advocate Dhami said that the main event of the centenary will be held in Sri Anandpur Sahib in November 2025, and the role of this coordination committee will be important to make it historic.
He said that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji had sacrificed his life to protect Indian culture and religious freedom. Everyone should cooperate to celebrate his 350th martyrdom centenary at the national level, so that the message of Guru Sahib's teachings and martyrdom for humanity can be widely spread in the world.
