CHANDIGARH:The Study for updation/preparation of Comprehensive Mobility Plan
(CMP) for Tri City was allotted to M/s RITES Ltd. The Interim Report was submitted by
RITES Ltd in June 2022.
A presentation made by M/s RITES Ltd. today before the Adviser to the Administrator,
Secretary Transport, Finance Secretary, SSP Traffic and Security, Director Transport, Chief
Engineer, Chief Architect and other officials from Mohali and Panchkula regarding the
Interim Report consisting of Study Progress, Primary Traffic and Travel Survey Analysis,
Base year Travel Demand Model, Service Level Benchmarks, Major traffic problems, Short
Term Improvement Measures on Junction Improvement, Parking Management, Non-
motorised Transport including Pedestrians.
Based on the primary surveys and data analysis junction improvement plans are
proposed at major 15 identified junctions out of which 9 junctions will have vehicular
underpass along the major traffic direction to improve the traffic circulation consequently the
level of service will also improve. Short term parking management measures with respect to
policy interventions and enforcement are also proposed. Proposal for NMT and pedestrian
infrastructure and facilities are also presented.
The Interim Report presented will be updated as per the observations received by all
stakeholders. On approval of the Updated interim Report, draft CMP will be submitted along
with integrated mobility plan comprising of Short, medium and long term transport
improvement proposals.
