CHANDIGARH:BBMB signs pre-implementation agreement with Himachal for 42 MW Baggi
Hydro Project in the presence of Jai Ram Thakur and the Chairman BBMB Mr Sanjay
Srivastava.
The pre-implementation agreement for the construction of 42 MW Baggi Hydroelectric
Project was signed at Shimla onFriday. Mr Harikesh Meena, Director (Energy) Directorate of
Energy (DOE), Himachal Pradesh on behalf of the State Government and Secretary Mr Satish
Singla on behalf of BBMB were the authorized signatories. On this occasion, MP and State BJP
President Mr Suresh Kashyap, BBMB's Member Power Mr Harminder Singh Chugh, Financial
Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer Mr J.S. Kahlon and Special Secretary Mr Ajay Sharma were
present on the occasion.
The official of the BBM stated that Baggi project would be constructed in Mandi district by
Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB). Sanjay Srivastava, Chairman, BBMB said that the
estimated cost of the Baggi Hydroelectric Project is Rs 285 crore. After commissioning of this
project, 135.6 million units of electricity will be generated annually. Rs. 4.21 crore will be
contributed by Bhakra Beas Management Board under the Local Area Development Fund in the
project affected area. The construction of this project will be completed in 30 months after the
commencement of the work.
