A weekly plantation campaign “Ek Paudha Shaheed Vikram Batra Ke Naam” will start from July 7

CHANDIGARH: "On the 26th martyrdom day of brave soldier Captain Vikram Batra, who was martyred in the Kargil war, a weekly plantation campaign "Ek Paudha Shaheed Vikram Batra Ke Naam" is going to be started in Chandigarh and its surrounding areas on July 7 in his memory, which will be formally inaugurated by the hands of Chandigarh Administrator and Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria. In memory of martyr Captain Batra, Governor Kataria will formally start this campaign by planting a tree in his name at the Raj Bhavan.

On this occasion, father of martyr Vikram Batra, GL Batra also attended this program. Not only this, his father will participate in this campaign wherever it will be run throughout the week. "This information was given by Asha Jaswal, Chairman of the voluntary organization World Himachali Organization, after a formal meeting with Governor Gulab Chand Kataria at Punjab Raj Bhavan on Friday. She was leading the delegation of the organization. Vice Chairman Ravindra Pathania, President Amit Rana and General Secretary Sanjay Rajput were also present in the delegation. On this occasion, the delegation handed over a memorandum to Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria and also presented some suggestions by the organization.

Providing information about the above meeting, the chairman of the organization Asha Jaswal said that the delegation presented its views before Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria and said that a park or place in Chandigarh should be named in the memory of martyr Captain Vikram Batra. This will be a true tribute to him. This will not only inspire the city residents, but especially the young generation from his sacrifice and the story of his bravery will always remain alive. She said that martyr Batra received his education from Chandigarh and he had a special attachment towards Chandigarh.
After listening to the delegation, Chandigarh Administrator and Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria assured that he will place their suggestions before the concerned officials and will take positive action in a fair manner. The delegation expressed its gratitude to Governor Kataria for his assurance and his consent to plant a tree in the name of the martyr at Punjab Raj Bhavan.
