CHANDIGARH: Renowned Punjabi ghazal writer and poet Siri Ram Arsh has passed away. The Central Punjabi Writers’ Association (Regd.) has expressed deep sorrow, terming his demise as an unbearable loss to the Punjabi literary world.
In a joint statement, the association’s President Darshan Buttar, General Secretary Sushil Dosanjh, Senior Vice President Makhan Singh Kuhar and Office Secretary Deep Devinder Singh said that the works of Siri Ram Arsh are a priceless treasure of Punjabi literature. His sensitive and socially concerned ghazals presented topics like social inequality, poverty and human struggle with deep thought and beauty. The humanitarian messages and social awareness in his poetry had a deep impact on the hearts of the readers.
The Central Punjabi Writers' Association paid tribute to Siri Ram Arsh and said that his works are the immortal legacy of Punjabi literature and he will always live in the hearts of literature lovers.
