Tech-Fest-2023 Organized at Khalsa College

AMRITSAR: The post-graduate department of Computer Science and Applications, Khalsa College today organized Tech-Fest 2023 in which a seminar on “E-Waste Management” was the primary attraction. The facilitators were Dr.Yogesh Arora, Health Officer, Municipal Corporation, Amritsar and Ranjit Singh, Chief SI, Municipal Corporation. Prof. Harbhajan Singh Randhawa, Head Computer Science Department gave the important tips on managing the e--waste. Dr Mehal Singh, Principal, who was the Chief Guest of the function spoke on how the eletronics waste is becoming a major challenge for the society.

Dr.Parminder Kaur, Head, Deptt. of Computer Science, GNDU, and Dr.Raminder Kaur, Professor, School of Punjabi Studies, GNDU, Amritsar also spoke on the ocassion Guests of Honour for the Dr.Taminder Singh Bhatia, Dean, Academic Affairs, Prof. Harbhajan Singh Randhawa, Coordinator of Tech Era Computer Society and Dr. Mani Arora, Co-Coordinator of Tech Era Computer Society welcomed the delegates. Dr.Yogesh Arora emphasized on the various categories of electronic waste and made the audience aware about the ways through which the e-waste can be managed.

Tech-Fest 2023 included ten more events which was a blend of Technical and Creative events. Brain-O-Mania, Code Marathon, Web Blog, Web Nexus, Bug Smash Code were technical events and Tech-Collage, Tech-Rangoli, IT Chart Innovation, Junk War, Techno Reels were the creative events. In total 18 colleges and 8 schools, with their 122 teams, participated from different regions of Punjab.

Khalsa College for Women, , Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, SGAD College Khadur Sahib, Amritsar Group of Colleges, Global Institutes Amritsar etc. were the some of the colleges while Govt. High School, Putlighar, Brightland School, Amritsar, Govt. Senior Secondary School, Kot Khalsa, Govt. Senior Secondary School, Gol Bagh, Khalsa College International School etc. participated in various events.

Principal Dr.Mehal Singh distributed the prizes to the winning teams. He said that such kind of technical fests enhances the talents of the students and encourages them to know about new technologies being used in the current era. He praised the faculty and students of Department of Computer Science for organizing Tech-Fest 2023.

Overall trophy for schools was bagged by Bright Land School, Amritsar, Khalsa College International Public School bagged the second position and Third position was won by Govt. High School Putlighar. Overall trophy for colleges was presented to Khalsa College, Amritsar. First Runner up was SSSS Commerce College for Women, Amritsar and Second Runner up was Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Principal Dr.Mehal Singh congratulated the winners. Dr. Mani Arora Co-Coordinator Tech-Era Computer Society, P.G. Deptt. Of Computer Science & Applications gave vote of thanks. Prof. Sukhwinder Kaur, Dr.Rupinder Singh, Prof. Prabhjot Kaur, Dr.Anureet Kaur, Prof. Simranjeet Kaur, Prof. Guneet Kaur, Prof. Vishal Gupta and Prof. Kirti Bala, Prof.SonaliTuli were present.
