CHANDIGARH: Panjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Renu Vig today released a book on Nanomaterials in Food and Drugs.
The book, entitled “Engineered Nanomaterials in Food and Drugs: From laboratory to market”, has been authored by Dr.Nishima Wangoo, faculty at the Department of Applied Sciences, UIET, PU. The book focuses on previous and current applications of nanomaterials and its advancements in the past few years. It also talks about the ethical issues and parameters to be evaluated before a nanomaterial enters the market particularly in the areas of cancer theranostics and neurodegenerative disorders.
Dr.Nishima has several recognitions in the field of nanoscience and has various high impact research articles, patents and awards to her credit. Notably, she is the first and only woman scientist from Panjab University who is a member of INYAS-INSA, the only young scientist academy of India.
