MANDI GOBINDGARH: Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh and Desh Bhagat Radio celebrated International Yoga Day in collaboration with the Department of Ayurveda, Punjab under the guidance of Ministry of Ayush, and Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) at the University campus.
Dr Shridev Phondani, Principal, Department of Ayurveda, welcomed Dr Ravi Doomra, Director, Ayurveda, Ministry of Ayush and Gurinder Singh Johal, SDM, Amloh as chief guests, Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University and Dr Tajinder Kaur, Pro Chancellor, were special guests.
On this occasion, Dr Zora Singh Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, welcomed all the dignitaries to the campus and expressed his gratitude for their gracious presence. He said that it is a significant day today to spread awareness about the benefits of yoga and meditation worldwide. For the year 2023, the 9th year of International Yoga day, the theme "Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" has been selected, highlighting the message of One Earth, One Family, and One Future.
Dr Kulbhushan, Director, Desh Bhagat Ayurveda College, said that a Yoga Protocol on the day following the movement of the sun was organized, which witnessed more than 1000 participants from catchment area government schools, nearby villages,
