MANDI GOBINDGARH: The NSS wing of Desh Bhagat University is celebrating the 75th anniversary of Independence, under the theme “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav & Meri Mati - Mera Desh” from August 9 to August 20.
Disclosing this, Dr JK Sharma, Director, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) and Programme Coordinator, NSS wing, said that on the eve of the 75th anniversary of Independence Day, the Government is celebrating this occasion all-over the country. Desh Bhagat University is also organizing events to celebrate the big day. The events are being organised under the guidance of Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University.
Dr Sharma said that the events will be related to activities like installing flex boards in the campus to create awareness, Panch Pran Pledge (in which patriotic pledges will be taken by the students and faculty members), Vasudha Vandhan – Plantation of 75 plants to develop an Amrit Vatika, Veeron Ka Vandan – felicitation of 5 freedom fighters/retired defence persons/State Police personnels by Desh Bhagat University for their contribution to the country and many more.
Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, expressed happiness at the initiative in organizing these events to celebrate the Independence Day and hoped that the students would wholeheartedly and enthusiastically participate in these events to make it a great show.
