MANDI GOBINDGARH: Dr Abhijit H Joshi has joined as Vice-Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh. Dr Virinder Singh, Advisor to Chancellor, accorded Dr Joshi a floral welcome. He also welcomed Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, Dr Tajinder Kaur, Pro Chancellor, Dr Sandeep Singh, President and Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice- President of DBU, and other dignitaries.
Dr Zora Singh expressed his happiness at having such a distinguished personality among the administrators of DBU which would add to the reputation and progress of the University.
Dr Joshi said that he was glad and honoured to be a part of Desh Bhagat University, which has gained recognition due to its commitment to extensive learning, quality teaching and industry-oriented training. He said that he would strive to add to the development and growth of DBU, which has immense potential and is bound to gain recognition as the prime-most University not only in Punjab, but across India and worldwide.
Dr Pramod Mandal, Controller of Examination, introducing the new V-C said that Dr Joshi was former Dean, Faculty of Ayurveda and Professor, HOD of Department of Ayurveda and Yoga, Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Pune. Dr. Joshi has about 23 years of professional experience which includes teaching, research, administration and institution building. He is a renowned professor, particularly known in the field of academics and administration for his logical and practical approach towards the most difficult situations.
He said besides being an able academician and administrator Dr Joshi was also recipient of many awards and honours. He has been a Member of NAAC Peer Team since 2017. He is a recipient of the Presidential Award, Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman in 2019 Young Scientist Award, Pride of India 2021 Award and many more.
