MANDI GOBINDGARH: Desh Bhagat University organised an awards function on the theme “Shining Stars”. The objective of the event was to give rewards to 5, 000 meritorious school students from all over Punjab who have excelled in their 12th grade examination.
Dr Rohit Moudgill, Assistant Director, Admissions, Desh Bhagat University, welcomed Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, as the Chief Guest and Dr Sandeep Singh, President, DBU, Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice-President and RJ Sangmitra as the special guests of the event.
Dr Zora Singh said that Desh Bhagat University always encourages students for hard work, dedication and excellence. He also congratulated the prize winners for their excellent results and their hard work and dedication that have led to their success. He motivated them to keep working hard towards their goals.
Dr Sandeep Singh, President, said that the event was to highlight the success stories of the students and to inspire other students to strive for excellence. DBU is known for its endeavour to encourage bright students to achieve excellence and share their experience for the benefit of other fellow students.
Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice-President, congratulated the students for their achievement and counseled them to keep working towards their goal with utmost honesty and success would follow them.
Dr Sadawarti said that a special scholarship scheme named as DBEST (Desh Bhagat University Entrance Scholarship Test) is offered by the University for the meritorious and needy students. Under DBEST, up to 100 percent scholarship is given to the students who clear the entrance test. With this initiative, DBU is paving the way to make education accessible and affordable.
Scholarship worth more than Rs 23 crore will be provided by the University in session 2023-24 to different categories.
