MANDI GOBINDGARH: Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, has been awarded “The Prominent Punjabi Award''. The award function was organised by News18 (Punjab and Haryana) Channel at The Hayat Residency, Chandigarh.
While presenting the award, Misha Bajwa introduced Dr Zora Singh and said that he is doing a wonderful job in the field of education and in the healthcare sector. He is a self-made man who has worked very hard to make DBU a brand.
She said along with education, Desh Bhagat University is working for the benefit of the economy and for the cause of social uplift. He is not only working for the progress of the University but is also doing his bit for the community and the society, which makes him an idol for the youth.
Karan Abhishek Singh, CEO, News18 Network, presented the award to Dr Zora Singh, as “The Prominent Punjabi in the field of Education, Innovation and Research”.
Dr Zora Singh said that Desh Bhagat University is not only giving quality education to the students but also providing a platform to the students to showcase their talent. DBU is making efforts to make education accessible to the underprivileged through their scholarship scheme “DBEST” and other grants for the needy and meritorious students.
He added that other than the conventional courses, the University is offering more that 200+ courses in Ayurveda, Nursing, Pharma, Dental Paramedical, Management, Engineering etc. which have gained popularity among the students.
Dr Sandeep Singh, President, Desh Bhagat University, congratulated Dr Zora Singh, and appreciated the gesture of News18 network. He said that it is a matter of pride for DBU that because of the persistent efforts of Dr Zora Singh, the University has gained recognition not only in India but worldwide, and is bound to progress even more in the future.
