CHANDIGARH: BioNEST-Panjab University (PU), a leading incubator and accelerator for innovative startups, has announced financial assistance of Rs 85 lakhs to eight promising startups selected from across India under the third call for proposals of the SEED (Start-up Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development) Fund. Supported by BIRAC (Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council), this flagship initiative marks a significant step in empowering startups that have successfully achieved proof-of-concept and are ready to scale their ventures to the next stage of growth.
Announcing the results of the third call for proposals under the SEED Fund, PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig said, “The selected startups, hailing from Rajkot, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Mohali, and Chandigarh, will receive equity-based funding to overcome early-stage challenges and strengthen their journey towards commercialisation.” The funding will specifically support high-impact innovations in Life Sciences and allied areas, with an emphasis on affordable and sustainable solutions.
Prof. Vig further noted, “Through this initiative, we seek to nurture a vibrant innovation-driven ecosystem, equipping startups with the resources they need to thrive. By supporting these entrepreneurial ventures, we are fostering not only their success but also contributing to the region’s economic and societal development.”
