KAITHAL: The Anti Corruption Bureau team in Kaithal has arrested Dinesh Kajal, Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) of Kaithal, taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh 40 lakh this morning. The ETO had demanded a bribe of Rs 8 lakh from a person from Chika by threatening to attach the guarantor's land for not repaying the installment of liquor contracts.

CHANDIGARH: Punjab’s Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, has clarified that there is currently no proposal to restart the Jal bus service. He stated that certain media reports suggested that the Punjab government is attempting to relaunch the Jal bus parked at Harike in the Ranjit Sagar Lake. Sond dismissed these reports as baseless and false, calling them mere rumors.

In this case Constable Rajinder Kumar and his accomplice Sagar Verma have been arrested and VB teams searching for the third accused.

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its anti-corruption drive, has registered a corruption case against Harpreet Singh PCS, Assistant Labor Commissioner Hoshiarpur, and his office’s computer operator, Alka Sharma, for accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000. Accused Alka Sharma has been caught red-handed while she was accepting the bribe of 30,000 rupees and has been sent to jail on a 14-day judicial remand by the local court. The other accused, Harpreet Singh PCS, is currently absconding.

In this case Senior Constable Gurpreet Singh Gopi has been arrested and efforts are underway to arrest the second accused.
