CHANDIGARH:The Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) has accused the Charanjit Singh Channi led Punjab Government of shielding former DGP Sumedh Saini.

CHANDIGARH: In an unprecedented judicial order, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted a blanked bail to former Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini against whome over half a dozen cases have been registered by Punjab Police. The HC ordered Police not to arrest him in any case till the assembly elections in 2022.

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has decided to file a Recall Petition in the High Court against the August 19 release orders of Sumedh Saini in a land fraud case , and also against the court’s interim bail order of August 12 in the disproportionate assets case against the former DGP.

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Police likely to arrest former DGP Sumedh Singh Saini any time now in a case related to police firing on Sikhs in Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan. A police team has already reached the Chandigarh residence of Saini.

CHANDIGARH: The Special Investigating Team (SIT) of Punjab Police today morning raided the residence of former DGP Sumedh Singh Saini in Sector 20 here but he was not available at his residence. The SIT has also raided his possible hideouts in New Delhi.

MOHALI: Former Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini has been summoned by SIT formed by Punjab Police to appear before it  in connection with Balwant Singh Multani disappearance case today at 3 PM in the Mataur police station here.

CHANDIGARH: The proximity of Badal family with former Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini has once against came to limelight with a registration of FIR against Saini in Balwant Singh Multani disapearance case of 1991. Saini has applied for anticipatory bail in Mohali court on which decision will be pronounced on Monday.
