Tarsem Singh Kaler refused to contest case of former DGP Sumedh Saini

CHANDIGARH: Tarsem Singh Kaler, the advocate hired by forrmer DGP Sumedh Singh Saini has refused to contest his case related to kidnapping and murder of a youth in 1991. Punjab Police has registered a fresh FIR against Saini after an earlier CBI probe was quashed by the Supreme Court.

Sumedh Singh Saini was denied interim bail by a Mohali court today and issued notice to Punjab Government for May 9. Kaler had repersented Saini today in the court.

Kaler said that he was receiving adverse remarks on social media and he was being criticised for fighting the Saini's case being a Sikh. He said that he was Sikh first and an advocate later. He said that he had taken the decision after due consideration and conveyed to Saini. He said that he had returned documents of case to Saini.

Saini was last night refursed entry by Himachal Pradesh Police where he wss probaly going to hide after registration of FIR. He was stopped at Swarghat in Bilaspur district as he wanted to go to Mandi.
