Punjab and Haryana High Court has rejected Sumedh Saini's pre-arrest bail plea

CHANDIGARH: In a big jolt to former Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh saini , Punjab and Haryana High Court today rejected the pre arrest bail plea made by him and also rejected demand for CBI probe into criminal case registered against him under section 302 of IPC for the alleged murder of Balwant Singh Multani in 1991.

The High Court had on Saturday kept the decision on Saini's bail reserved. Earlier his bail was rejected by the Mohali court. SIT former by Punjab Police to investigate the kidnapping case of Multani had registered murder case on the basis of statements given by two co-accused, Inspector in Chandigarh Police. They alleged that they kidnapped Multani on orders of Saini and then Saini tortured and killed him before dumping dead body in Punjab.

Punjab Police is looking for Saini to arrest him but he is absconding with family to evade arrest. He was goven Z security by Punjab Government. Saini's security personnel are still at his residence in Sector 20 Chandigarh.
