CHANDIGARH: In order to ensure smooth paddy procurement operations ahead of Kharif procurement season, the Group of Ministers (GoMs) led by Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian today held a crucial meeting with Federation of Aarthia Association of Punjab to address their genuine demands and iron out concerns.

CHANDIGARH: Pulling up its socks well in 4 months advance of the Paddy procurement season 2025, Punjab Government led by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann undertook a path breaking initiative by constituting a Group of Ministers (GoM) for supervising food grain procurement and ensuring smooth Wheat and Paddy Procurement in the coming seasons in the State. CHANDIGARH: Taking prompt cognizance of the letter of Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, GoI regarding postponement of paddy procurement for KMS 2021-22 for the State of Punjab, the Chief Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi on Thursday sought the personal intervention of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to advise the Ministry to withdraw its letter forthwith thus allowing the state to start Paddy procurement from October 1 instead of October 11.

CHANDIGARH:The persistent and personal efforts of Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Wednesday yielded authorization of Cash Credit Limit (CCL) of Rs.35,712.73 crore upto end October 2021 for procurement of Paddy during Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2021-22 and extension of the time limit for liquidation of food credit account pertaining to Rabi Marketing Season (RMS) upto end July 2022.

CHANDIGARH: With the state expected to produce 191 lakh metric tons of paddy, the Punjab Cabinet, presided over by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, on Friday approved the Punjab Custom Milling Policy for Kharif 2021-22 for the conversion of paddy procured by state procurement agencies into custom milled rice and its delivery into the Central pool.

AMRITSAR: Taking stock of the arrangements for the procurement of Paddy starting from October 1 in the district, Deputy Commissioner Mr Gurpreet Singh Khaira strongly instructed the officials to keep a close watch on the bogus billing of paddy this time and not a single sack of paddy coming from outside the state should enter the district.

NEW DELHI: Hitting an all-time high, 433.32 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of wheat has been procured from most of the wheat procuring states after conclusion of current marketing season RMS 2021-22, against the 389.92 LMT procured in RMS 2020-21, an official statement said on Monday.

GORAYA/PHILLAUR: Like the Punjab Government had successfully purchased every grain of wheat despite COVID-19 pandemic, the government has again made all the necessary arrangements for the paddy procurement season and entire harvest would be purchased from the farmers, said former Punjab Youth Congress President and Phillaur assembly constituency incharge Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary during his visit to Goraya grain market to take stock of procurement preparations.

 CHANDIGARH: In view of advance arrival of Paddy in the State Mandis, the Punjab Government has ordered to start procurement from September 27, 2020 instead of the earlier announced program. Instructions have also been issued to lift the procured crop within 48-hours.

With over 90% paddy arrivals in the grain markets state-wide, Sangrur leads the State with paddy procurement to the tune of 1654691metric tonnes closely followed by Ludhiana, Moga and Patiala having procured 1626361, 1206246 and 1202459 MT paddy respectively, informed an official spokesman of Government of Punjab.

CHANDIGARH: Following Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s personal efforts, the Centre on Wednesday sanctioned Cash Credit Limit (CCL) amount of Rs. 26,707.50 crore for procurement of paddy in the Kharif marketing season 2019-20 for the month of October.
