AMRITSAR: The five-member recruitment committee members Manpreet Singh Ayali, Jathedar Gurpartap Singh Wadala, Jathedar Iqbal Singh Jhundan, Jathedar Santa Singh Umaidpur and Bibi Satwant Kaur have strongly opposed the issue of giving 8500 cusecs of water to Haryana with immediate effect by the Bhakra Beas Management Board.

The five-member recruitment committee members put the Punjab government in the dock and said that Punjab will have to pay the price for the incompetence of the Punjab government and the state's side not being presented strongly.

The five-member recruitment committee members said that it has become very clear in all the surveys conducted by the central government and the Punjab government that Punjab has reached the dark zone. In many districts, the water level has gone down to more than a thousand feet. Many districts are suffering from drought. If we talk about the reduced water level in the dams, according to media reports, the water level in Pong Dam has decreased by 31.87 percent compared to this time last year. The water level in Ranjit Sagar Dam has decreased by 16.90 percent. The water level in Bhakra Dam has decreased by 10 percent.

The farmers of Punjab will also have to bear the brunt of the reduced water level in the dams in the upcoming crop season and on top of that, the 8500 cusecs of water to be given to Haryana will cause a double blow.

The five-member recruitment committee members said that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann could not present Punjab's side strongly in the five-and-a-half-hour BBMB meeting. Compared to the human resource report submitted by Haryana, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann failed to present the drought-like conditions in many districts of Punjab logically.

Along with this, the five-member recruitment committee members stressed that the parties running from Delhi can never protect Punjab and the issues related to Punjab. This is the reason why Punjab is suffering the consequences of the double standards of the BJP, Congress and AAP leadership. In the statement issued, the members said that while the BJP government at the center has committed a big betrayal with Punjab, the deep silence of the Punjab BJP leadership seals the fact that they were completely complicit in fulfilling their central plans. Along with this, the AAP supremo's policy double stand also proved fatal for Punjab. During the Haryana Assembly elections, Kejriwal, under political vested interests, made claims to the people of Haryana that there would be an 'AAP' government in Punjab and that the Punjab government would do anything according to his wishes, and Punjab also had to pay the price. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann could also never register his opposition to Arvind Kejriwal's claims in time, due to which Punjab had to pay the loss of his political weakness in the BBMB meeting yesterday.

Along with this, the five-member recruitment committee members strongly appealed to all political parties, social organizations, and farmer leaders on the sensitive issue of water to adopt a platform on this big and important issue of Punjab and prepare the outline of the next struggle.

The recruitment committee members, while keeping their commitment to Punjab with sincerity, said that they will always stand in the front line on the issues of Punjab and fulfill their duties.
