PATIALA:Supreme Court Judge and Acting Chairman of the National Legal Services Authority, Justice U U Lalit reviews National Lok Adalat in Patiala, today, online.
Justice Lalit lauded the efforts made by the bench of Additional District and Sessions Judge, Shiv Mohan Garg, in the presence of District and Sessions Judge, Rajinder Aggarwal to settle a criminal dispute amicably during today's National Lok Adalat.
Divulging the derails, Mr Rajinder Aggarwal said that in this case, Nine persons were convicted under sections 323 and 325 of the IPC. Both the parties reached a compromise during the National Lok Adalat and second party agreed to pay a compensation Rs 2.5 lakh to the aggrieved party. District and Sessions Judge Mr Aggarwal further said that Justice Lalit had reviewed the process of disposal of the above-mentioned case, online and expressed satisfaction over the role played by the bench to effect compromise between both the parties.
District and Sessions Judge, Patiala, Rajinder Aggarwal, who was inspecting the National Lok Adalat locally today, told reporters, here, that as per the directions of Justice Ajay Tewari, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court and Acting Chairman of the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, a total of 24 benches were set up in District Courts of Patiala, Nabha, Samana and Rajpura to give hearing to the cases of the people during the National Lok Adalat.
The District and Sessions Judge added that the courts have been working very vigorously and consistently with the help of lawyers to resolve the pending cases due to Covid restrictions. He further said that the successful disposal of check bounce, accident claims and conciliatory cases through Lok Adalats, would enable the people to get speedy and cheap justice. He said that while the Lok Adalats were beneficial for the common men and the success of disposal of many a cases through mutual consent, here, have saved the precious time of the courts to resolve other important matters, in routine days of working.
Interestingly, during his visit to various Benches, Mr Aggarwal, counseled some of the couples successfully to get them reunite by asking them to leave their petty issues for the sake of their children. He said that it would not be easy for the children of these couples to bear the shock of divorce of their parents, rather they can give them a good nurturing by ending their strain ties for better future of their children.
Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, CJM Parminder Kaur said that today's National Lok Adalat remained sucessful as 24 benches settled, over 4000 cases out of 6600 taken up for hearing.
