CHANDIGARH: Senior congress leader & Punjab’s leader of the opposition (LoP) Partap Singh Bajwa has on Saturday slammed BJP leader Sunil Jakhar saying no amount of attempts by him to scuttle or derail the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra of Rahul Gandhi would succeed.
Bajwa said even when Jakhar was in the congress party it was a known fact within the party circles that he was a stooge and a mole of the BJP party. “ His close association with Captain Amarinder Singh was also well known and how they both clandestinely hobnobbed with the saffron party to destabilize congress party was no secret”, said Bajwa.
First double faced & hypocrite politicians such as Jakhar and the likes of him in the BJP tried to discredit the Bharat Jodo Yatra by raising insignificant issues such as pointing a finger at the colour of Rahul Gandhi’s turban. Now the same people after being ruffled by the success of yatra did not want Rahul Gandhi to be projected as prime minister, added Bajwa.
Bajwa said did Jakahar and Capt Amarinder and the BJP utter even a single word after Sirsa dera head Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh was given parole for 40 days for the record 6th time to celebrate the birth anniversary of his predecessor Shah Satnam. “ The entire BJP leadership including Jakhar and Capt Amarinder have gone into a slumber when a rapist and a murderer is being let out from jail every now an then by the BJP government in Haryana only to consolidate its vote bank in the region”, added Bajwa.
Bajwa said both Jakhar and Capt Amarinder also remained mute spectators when women wrestlers of international fame were agitating at the Jantar Mantar for three consecutive days to lodge a case against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh who along with other coaches have been sexually exploiting the sports women.
Bajwa said Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was a six time Member Parliament (MP) of BJP from Uttar Pradesh and has been allegedly sexually exploiting the women wrestlers.
Even now the BJP government at the centre has tried to push the entire case under the carpet rather than immediately registering a case against the BJP MP.
