AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee will not send a Jatha of Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan to participate in the events to be held on the death anniversary of Shere Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh on June 29, 2025.
Giving information in this regard, Secretary of the Shiromani Committee Partap Singh said that the Sikh pilgrims had submitted their passports to the Travel Department of the Shiromani Committee office to go to Pakistan on the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
He said that every year the Shiromani Committee sends a jatha of Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan to observe the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, but in view of the tense atmosphere in both the countries and the restrictions imposed by the Indian Government on travel and the guidelines issued, the Shiromani Committee has decided not to send this jarha this time.
He said that pilgrims can contact the Travel Department of the Shiromani Committee for more information.
