SGPC to constitute six members committee regarding incident of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib: Advocate Dhami

AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara  Parbandhak  Committee   has decided  to  form  a  six  members committee will consist of two representative organizations, two from the Shiromani Committee and two from Panthic scholars to see the  entire  matter  of desecration  at Golden  Temple. 

This  decision was  taken at a joint  meeting  of  various  Sikh  organisations  which was held  under  the  presidentship  of Mr Harjinder  Singh  Dhammi at Teja Singh  Samundari  Hall  here today. 

While talking  to  media  he said that the SGPC had watched the CCTV footage to get to the bottom of the incident and a committee would be constituted to search the cameras outside the Golden Temple.

He said that CCTV cameras revealed that the accused had reached Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib via Jalliawala Bagh Marg at 8.30 am on the day of the incident.

 During this time he first came from Sri Akal Takht Sahib Secretariat at about 9 o'clock to enter the parikrama, but returned. He then reached the  of Guru Ram Das Sarai through the plaza and entered the langar house at 9:38 am. He ate langar and drank tea. From here he entered the parikrama  of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib at 10:19 am.

 The accused reached Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib for the first time at 10:34 am. At 10:37 Hari Ki went upstairs and came out at 11:45. He then re-entered Sachkhand and carried out the unfortunate incident at 5:46 p.m.

Advocate Dhami said that it was clear from the CCTV cameras that he was scared and kept walking with his face down all day. 

In the meanwhile, he was also kicked out by the task force on the pretext of being a pickpocket.

 He said that it was clear that the accused had come in bad faith and was working as per the training received later.

 Advocate Dhami, in reply to a question, said that whatever punishment was meted out to him by the Sikh Panth, it was due to hurting religious sentiments and non-delivery of justice by the governments. If the intentions of the governments are clear then the culprits can never do such thing. 

The SGPC President also questioned the performance of the government and police in the incident which took place at village Nazimpur Mor in Kapurthala.

 it was mentioned that Singh Sahib Giani Baljit Singh, who was reciting rehraas, did not allow any breach of code of conduct even during this difficult time and continued the recitation.
