AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has appealed to Akal Takht Jathedar to summon Iqbal Singh Lalpura chairman National Minority Commission for giving prominence to the sectarian Nurmahilis in the Gurmat samagam.
Senior Vice President of Shiromani Committee Harbhajan Singh Masana, Junior Vice President Bhai Gurbakhsh Singh Khalsa and General Secretary Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta have strongly condemned the strongly condemned
the participation of the anti-cult Nurmahilians in the event organized on the occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Prakash Gurpurab.
They said that Sikh sentiments have been hurt by Iqbal Singh Lalpura's inclusion of Nurmahalis on the stage during a Gurmat samagam at his home in Delhi. Their behavior is not acceptable. In this regard, the leaders of the Shiromani Committee appealed to Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh of Sri Akal Takht Sahib that to summon Iqbal Singh Lalpura to Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
They said that in the year 2002, Sri Akal Takht Sahib has ordered the Sikh world to stay away from them because the Nurmahalis committed the crime of insulting the Gurus and Sikh principles. In violation of this order of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Iqbal Singh Lalpura has given proof of being a sectarian. Therefore, religiously Action should be taken on Lalpura.
The office-bearers of the Shiromani Committee have also demanded accountability from the Ragi Jathe who performed kirtan during this event and Granthi Singh who performed the service.
