He said that the amount collected for the flood victims will be used for their rehabilitation.

Advocate Dhami also highly appreciated the relief work being done by the Shiromani Akali Dal for the flood victims.
Advocate Dhami said that after the water recedes, there is a big risk of disease spreading in the flood-affected areas. Along with this, spray machines are being sent to protect against mosquitoes etc. Teams of veterinary doctors will also serve in these areas to protect the animals from diseases. He demanded from the government that Rs 50, 000 per acre should be given as compensation for the damaged crops and that the government should also compensate for other losses including animals and houses.
The SGPC President thanked all the organizations serving in the affected areas and appealed to provide relief materials as per the needs of the local people. Dry milk for children, mosquito nets and other necessary items are in great need at this time. Advocate Dhami, while praising the SGPC employees for their financial support in the relief work, appealed to all the members to provide Rs. 1 lakh each from their discretionary quota to help the flood victims.
