TARN TARAN: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Vice President Ravinder Singh Brahmpura on Wednesday accused the AAP government in Punjab of failing on all fronts, alleging a "complete collapse of law and order" and insensitivity towards the state's "helpless" farmers.

Addressing a gathering of party workers after his reappointment, Brahmpura claimed it was not the rule of law but a "reign of gangsters and drug smugglers" that prevailed in Punjab.

"Incidents of murder, robbery, and extortion are occurring daily, yet the government remains in a deep slumber, " he said after offering thanks at Gurdwara Patshahi Panjvin in Chohla Sahib.

Brahmpura, who is also the SAD in-charge for the Khadoor Sahib constituency, termed the government's anti-drug campaign a "total failure."

"All of the government's claims to eradicate the drug menace by May, June, and July have proven to be false, " he stated, further alleging that "the government's own people are earning crores by engaging in the black market of de-addiction medicines."

Criticizing the government's handling of the recent floods, Brahmpura claimed that farmers were yet to receive full compensation for the floods of 2023. He described the order for a damage assessment (*girdawari*) while crops remain submerged under eight feet of water as a "cruel joke on the farmers."

He added that no government representative has visited dozens of flood-affected villages in the Khadoor Sahib constituency where thousands of acres of crops have been destroyed.

Brahmpura thanked the SAD leadership, including party president Sukhbir Singh Badal and Bikram Singh Majithia, for re-entrusting him with the key party position. The event was attended by several senior leaders viz., Satnam Singh Chohla Sahib, Subeg Singh, Nal Singh, Puran Singh, Dusandha Singh Gabria, and many other former sarpanches, block samiti members, and local party officials from across the constituency.
