Says, ransom killings have become ‘new normal’ in Punjab
CHANDIGARH, : August 20: Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today condemned the brutal murder of a trader Ravi Dhillon in Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur last night, allegedly at the behest of some gangsters after he refused to pay extortion money.

Warring also condemned the attack on a Jalandhar doctor Rahul Sood in Jalandhar last evening.
The PCC president said that there was an atmosphere of fear and terror in Punjab, as ransom killings have become a new normal. He said the Aam Aadmi Party government had completely failed to secure the life and property of people in Punjab and nobody was feeling safe.

While expressing grave concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, PCC president noted that the criminals appear to have no fear of law. While the state government seems to have given up the will to govern and is busy with other things, criminals and gangsters are ruling the roost.

He said, since the police have failed to take any action by arresting the culprits in the previous incidents, the criminals are getting emboldened day by day. He pointed out, the police are clueless about earlier killings and murderous assaults by the gangsters.

Warring warned that this trend of killing and intimidating people like businessmen, traders and doctors will trigger complete economic collapse in the state as people do not feel safe here anymore.

The PCC president also condemned the murderous assault on a Congress worker, Dilawar Singh from Talwandi Sabo in Patiala. He demanded immediate action against the culprits and their arrest.
