Punjab Human Rights Organization reorganized under the leadership of former Justice Ranjit Singh

CHANDIGARH: A meeting of more than two dozen activists working for human rights in Punjab held here today at the campus of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan, Chandigarh . It was decided to reconstitute the Punjab Human Rights Organization under the leadership of Justice Ranjit Singh (retired). Earlier, it worked under the leadership of Justice Ajit Singh Bains, who passed away some years ago.

In the meeting, concern was expressed regarding the serious violation of human rights in Punjab and the country. The draft presented at the meeting regarding the organization's declaration and organizational structure was unanimously passed after a long discussion. On this occasion, it was also decided to elect the the office bearers and establish district committees.

At the meeting Justice Ranjit Singh has been unanimously elected as chairman of the Organisatio , Dr Piara Lal Garg was elected as Vice Chairman, Malvinder Singh Mali as General Secretary, Rajvinder Singh Bains as Head of Legal Wing, Sarabjit Singh Verka as Head of Research Wing, Hamir Singh as Organizing Secretary, Dr. Khushal Singh as Office Secretary.

Apart from these, the remaining office bearers and assign responsibilities was given to Justice Ranjit Singh was authorized to name the remaining office bearers and assign duties and responsibilities accordingly. The head office of the organization will be at Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan.

Among those present at the meeting were Giani Kewal Singh, Advocate Gurjit Singh, Gurpreet Singh (Global Sikh Council), Sukhwinder Singh Sidhu, Advocate Gurdeep Singh Chandigarh, Advocate Navjot Kaur Chabba, Paramsunil Kaur, Armanjot Kaur, Amanpreet Kaur Rai, Gurshamshir Singh Journalist, Advocate Daljit Singh Bath, Tejinder Singh Mohali, Inderpreet Singh Goga Sandhu, Advocate Parminder Singh Gill, Advocate Navjot Singh, Prof. Sham Singh, K.P Singh, Satnam Singh and Advocate Parminder Singh.
