CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria extended his greetings to the people of Punjab and Chandigarh on the auspicious occasion of Diwali and 'Bandi Chhor Diwas'.
The historic 'Bandi Chhor Diwas', which marks the release of 52 Hindu Princes from the Gwalior fort by Sixth Guru Sri Hargobind Sahib ji is also celebrated on the sacred day of Diwali.
In a message, the Governor said that the festival of lights symbolizes the victory of peace over conflict, good over evil, light over darkness. He also stressed on the need to lead a truthful and righteous life and bring the same in our thoughts and deeds.
The Governor has appealed to the people to celebrate the festivals of Diwali and Bandi Chhor Diwas in a green and environment-friendly manner by bursting minimum fire-crackers safely.
‘May Diwali and Bandi Chhor Diwas bring peace and prosperity besides bountiful bliss to our people’, added the Governor.
