CHANDIGARH: Priti Malhotra the state president of woman wing of Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) has revolted against the party leadership and staged a dharna in Patiala in protest against appointments of Delhi AAP leaders on key posts in Punjab.
The AAP has replaced Priti Malhotra overnight and gave the charge of state president of woman wing to Amandeep Kaur MLA from Amritsar.
Priti Malhitra is the founder member of AAP and she was appointed state president of woman wing in January 2024. She questioned the appointments of Reena Gupta as Chairman of Punjab Pollution Control Board and Deepak Chauhan as Chairman of Punjab Large Industrial Development Board. She said that Delhi AAP is running the government by ignoring the state leaders who worked hard for the victory of party in Punjab. She asked what is the contribution of Reena Gupta and Deepak Chauhan for Punjab.
Priti also raised the issue of Delhi team of Arvind Kejriwal interfering in the day to day working of the Punjab government and agents from Delhi are issuing orders to officials in every department. Earlier the Delhi AAP leaders were nominated in Rajya Sabha from Punjab seats. The party is now planning to send Arvind Kejriwal to Rajya Sabha from Punjab if present incumbent Sanjeev Arora wins the Ludhiana west by-election.
Oriti aid that the people from Punjab were not illiterate and incapable of holding high posts. Sher said that she had also raised the issue with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann but to no avail. She said that AAP volunteers if raise their voice are removed from the party without given any notice or reason. She said that AAP Delhi leaders are working as dictators. She said that she was removed for standing for the rights of AAP leaders from Punjab. She said that she may be booked in false cases by Mann government.
