AMRITSAR: In the formation of the 34-member committee regarding the service rules of Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the organizations which were not included by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee smells a conspiracy to distance these organizations from the SGPC and Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
Expressing these views, General Secretary of Sri Guru Singh Sabha Harmanjit Singh said that the oldest organization of Sikhs, Sri Guru Singh Sabha, which was established in 1873 for the propagation of Sikhism and is continuously making its due contribution, is somehow revealing the intention of forgetting the prominent organizations of Sikhs which are dedicated to the representation of Sikhs and the propagation of Sikhism and are associated with the propagation of Sikhism, from the Shiromani Committee and Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Harmanjit Singh said that in this 34-member committee, the Shiromani Committee has mostly included representatives who are in favor or against.
He said that it is surprising how the Vise president of the Shiromani Committee, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, could have made such a mistake as not including the representatives of Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib Abichal Nagar Nanded Board, Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib Board, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Sri Guru Singh Sabha Amritsar etc., or else we will have to be satisfied by assuming that the Shiromani Committee is doing this to distance these institutions from itself and Sri Akal Takht Sahib. If the SGPC does not want to take these above institutions along with it, then the Shiromani Committee does not need to propagate that the Shiromani Committee represents Sikhs from all over the world and every Sikh should gather under the banner of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
Harmanjit Singh appealed to SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami that if any other worthy organization has been forgotten, including these organizations, then they should accept their mistake and include their representatives so that the entire Panth, being dedicated to Sri Akal Takht Sahib, continues to make its due contribution to the propagation of Sikhism in a united manner.
