LUDHIANA: Former Delhi Chief Minister Ms.Atishi today during campaigning in Ludhiana West constituency echoed the warnings given by AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann to the voters of Ludhiana West constituency to vote for AAP candidate, else state government will not entertain any development work in the constituency. The AAP strategy to infleunce voters with threats may boomrang and hit the winning prospects of AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora.
Atishi said that if people would not vote for the AAP candidate, they will help opposition candidate to win the election. How can people expect that AAP government would allow opposition MLA to perform his duty for public. Opposition MLA would not be of any worth as he would only be fighting with the government. She asserted that AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora would be made minister very next day of declaration of election result. "People would be voting for a minister not MLA, she added.
Earlier former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann had issued similar threats to the voters while seeking votes for AAP candidate. Bhagwant Mann had said that he would not entertain opposition MLA for any development work in Ludhiana west constituency. Kejriwal had warned the voters, voting for opposition candidate would be disaster for the local people.
Interestingly, no AAP leader including Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann had demanded votes in the name of development done during AAP government's tenure. The political observers said that 'No Vote-No Work' slogan was used as last resort to influence the voters without realising the basic character of Punjabis, they being resistant to the coercive methods of establishment.
