Rebel Akali leader Sikandar Singh Malooka rejoins SAD(Badal)

CHANDIGARH: Senior Akali leader Sikandar Singh Malooka who rebelled against leadership of Sukhbir Singh Badal today rejoined the SAD(Badal) after hour long meeting with Sukhbir Singh Badal. He was excpelled from party for anti-party activities.

Malloka said that it was need of the hour to return to SAD because people of Punjab wanted SAD back in power. He said that people had seen the government run by AAP and they are disillussioned. He also favoured alliance between SAD and BJP. He said that support of center government is must for development of state.

He said that he would also request rebel SAD leaders Prem Singh Chandumajra and others to return to main party. He said that his daughter in law who is in BJP would not join SAD.

Welcoming Mr Maluka back into the SAD fold, Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal said the veteran leader had made an immense contribution to the party and that he was confident he would strive to strengthen it further. “We are witnessing a steady comeback of leaders who had left the party for various reasons in the past.                       
 
Recently senior leaders Sohan Singh Thandal and  Anil Joshi also rejoined the party. I’m confident Mr Maluka’s comeback will pave the way for complete panthic unity in the coming days”. Mr Badal also simultaneously appealed to all Punjabis to come together to strengthen the regional party. 
 
Badal also announced that Mr Sikandar Maluka had also conveyed to him that he would immediately join the party’s ongoing election campaign for the Ludhiana West assembly by-election. “The party is gaining ground in the Ludhiana West constituency with each passing day with Aam Aadmi Party’s Mahila Wing president Preeti Malhotra also joining the SAD few days back”.
