New timetable for opening shops in Kapurthala district

KAPURTHALA: Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate Deepti Uppal has issued a new timetable for opening shops in District Kapurthala in line with the restrictions imposed by the Punjab Government to curb covid.

Under the orders issued by the District Magistrate, the new restrictions would be effective from May 18 to May 31, 2021. She said the daily curfew would be from 5 pm to 5 am. There will also be a weekly curfew from 5pm on Friday to 5am on Monday.

According to the new schedule of shops, vegetable and fruit shops at Phagwara will be open from 7 am to 12 noon from Monday to Friday. Apart from Sabzi Mandi and Fruit shops in the rest of the district, all other shops would be open from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 1 pm.

Milk dairies will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturdays and Fridays, milk shops and dairies will be able to sell milk outside the shop by lowering the shutters of their shops. No customer will be able to enter the shop.

In addition, medical shops, health services, petrol and diesel pumps, LP. Distribution at Gas agencies can work all days of the week.

She also clarified that the vegetable market at Phagwara would be closed at 12 noon while the sabzi mandis in rest of the district would be closed at 1 o'clock.

Restaurants, coffee shops, fast food, sitting inside the dhaba will be banned from eating inside while they will be able to make home delivery till 9 pm . She clarified that the rest of the instructions and restrictions would remain the same.
