PATIALA: Former Punjab Police Inspector General (IG) Amar Singh Chahal today shot himself with his licenced weapon. He is admitted in a local hospital in critical condition.
Chahal in a suicide note said that he was defrauded for Rs.8 crore by cyber criminals. He had joined a group for investment and that turned out to be fake. He said that he had borrowed Rs.7.50 crores from relatives and friends and he has no face to show them.
Chahal was operated by doctors as he shot him in the chest. Doctors said that he was stable after the operation.
