Former Punjab ADGP Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh joins AAP, Kejriwal welcomes him in party

AMRITSAR: Former Additional DGP Punjab Police Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh today joined Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) here in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab party president Bhagwant Mann.

Kejriwal who was here today welcomed Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh and garlanded him. Bhagwant Mann said that it was shot in the arm for AAP in Punjab. He said that Kunwar Vijay Partap was an upright police officer who was member of SIT that probed cases of sacrilege of Guru Grnath Sahib. He later resigned from his post with the promsie to serve people of Punjab in some other capacity.

Arvind Kejriwal was earlier welcomed in the circuit house by Raghav Chadha incharge of Punjab party affairs and leader of opposition Harpal Singh Cheema.

Kejriwal also addressed a press conference. Kejriwal said that Kunwar Vijay Partap had made a grat sacrifice by resigning from his post for ensuring justice to people of Punjab. He said that he was not able to deliver justice remaining in the system. He said that AAP government when formed will probe the sacrilege cases and accused will be punished. He said that the man who investigated the cases is now in AAP and he will not spare the guilty.

Kunwar Vijap Partap assured that he will work for the welfare of people of Punjab.
