AMRITSAR: In a significant step towards women's empowerment and community development, the Diocese of Amritsar (DoA), Church of North India (CNI), has elected its new Diocesan Women’s Fellowship for Christian Service (DWFCS) committee during the DWFCS Triennium. Led by Mrs Meena William (President), Mrs Dorothy (Vice-President), Mrs Marshlaw Khokhar (Secretary), and Mrs Dani Singh (Treasurer), this dynamic team is poised to drive positive change across Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir.
With a focus on environmental sustainability, social justice, and women's empowerment, the DWFCS will spearhead initiatives like the World Day of Prayer, Christian Home Week, and Environment Day. “Despite progress, the plight of many women and girls remains dire. We aim to work tirelessly for their welfare, providing support, guidance, and opportunities for growth. We envision a society where women and girls thrive, free from discrimination and oppression, and where they can reach their full potential, ” said Mrs Meena William, President, DWFCS.
The newly elected DWFCS aims to uplift women and girls, promoting holistic growth and community enrichment through awareness programmes, counselling sessions, and support for education and career development.
“The new DWFCS committee embodies the spirit of service and compassion. As we recognize the invaluable role of women in the eyes of God and society, we also acknowledge their immense potential to bring about transformative change. The Bible reminds us of the strength and wisdom of women, and I believe that this committee will be a shining example of that strength, inspiring others to follow in their footsteps, ” said The Right Reverend Manoj Charan, Bishop, Diocese of Amritsar, CNI.
