DLSA Amritsar Organizes “Youth Against Drugs” Walkathon

AMRITSAR: Under the leadership of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court and Executive Chairman, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar (Mohali), and under the guidance of the Learned Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, as well as the Mrs. Jatinder Kaur, Learned District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Amritsar, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Amritsar has successfully organized a WALKATHON under the banner “YOUTH AGAINST DRUGS” on 22nd December 2025 at 8:00 AM as part of its ongoing campaign to combat the growing menace of drug abuse and to sensitize the youth and general public about its harmful consequences. 

The Walkathon commenced from the District Courts Complex, Amritsar and culminated at Saroop Rani Government College of Women, Amritsar. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 500 school students, who marched with banners and slogans conveying a strong message against drug abuse and highlighting the need for a drug-free society. 

The Walkathon was flagged off by Ms. Jatinder Kaur, District & Sessions Judge, Amritsar, who emphasized the crucial role of youth in building a healthy and progressive society. She highlighted that drug abuse not only destroys individuals but also weakens families and society at large, and called upon the youth to stay away from drugs and adopt a positive and disciplined lifestyle. 

The event was also graced by the presence of Sh. Baljinder Singh, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Amritsar, and Sh. Amardeep Singh Bains, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Amritsar and the Learned Judicial Officers of Headquarters, Sessions Division Amritsar who actively participated in the Walkathon and encouraged the students to become ambassadors of change by spreading awareness against drug abuse within their communities.
