PHAGWARA: Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday issued strong statements praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Armed Forces for carrying out what they described as precise and effective strikes against terror launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). The strikes, according to BJP leaders, were a direct response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 Indian civilians.
Former Union Minister Som Parkash, former Rajya Sabha member Avinash Rai Khanna, and other party leaders including Vijay Sampla, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal, Anil Sareen, Parminder Mehta, and Manoranjan Kalia, jointly hailed the operation — reportedly codenamed ‘Operation Sindoor’ — as a demonstration of India’s resolve to combat terrorism with decisive force.
The leaders emphasized that the military operation reflected a broader shift in India’s strategic posture, highlighting that the response was not merely retaliatory but a clear message to those who support or shelter terrorism. “Under the iron-clad leadership of Prime Minister Modi and the unmatched valour of our armed forces, justice has been delivered with precision, ” the statement read.
They claimed that nine terror launchpads were targeted and destroyed in a coordinated midnight strike, reportedly located in areas including Muridke, Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad — regions allegedly known to host camps of terror outfits such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad.
The BJP leaders described the operation as a redefinition of India's rules of engagement with hostile actors and praised the Indian Army’s professionalism and strategic execution. “Our forces moved like shadows — precise, lethal, and unstoppable, ” they said, adding that the operation showcased a new era of military capability and national resolve.
Highlighting Prime Minister Modi’s role, the leaders said his leadership style is marked not by rhetoric but by concrete action. “No attack on India goes unanswered. No Indian life is expendable. This operation reaffirms that principle, ” they stated.
They also directed strong criticism toward Pakistan’s military establishment and what they termed as “terror sympathizers, ” asserting that the era of impunity for cross-border terrorism is over. “You cannot bleed our people and hide behind borders. We will find you, we will strike you, and we will finish you, ” the statement declared.
The BJP leaders further addressed domestic critics of the government's national security policies, particularly those who advocate restraint or question military responses. “Those who speak the language of peace while our civilians are being killed are not defenders of democracy — they are indulging in dangerous appeasement, ” they said.
Concluding their remarks, the BJP leaders saluted the Indian Armed Forces for their courage and professionalism and reiterated their support for Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a strong, secure, and sovereign India. They expressed that the nation, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Arunachal to Gujarat, stands united in pride and patriotism, echoing the sentiment: “Bharat Mata ki Jai.” Meanwhile Phagwara MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal and Phillaur MLA Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary have also praised the Indian army for bold and agressive actin against terrorism.
