PHAGWARA: In a strong attack on the ruling Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, senior Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) leader and newly appointed National Senior Vice President, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, alleged that the Bhagwant Mann-led administration has adopted a dictatorial approach, suppressing opposition voices through false cases and coercive tactics.
Dr. Cheema was speaking at a grand felicitation event organized in his honour by the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) Phagwara unit, under the leadership of urban in-charge Sardar Ranjit Singh Khurana and rural in-charge Sardar Rajinder Singh Chandi. The event marked the celebration of Dr. Cheema’s elevation to one of the top positions in the party.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Cheema expressed heartfelt gratitude to party workers for their continuous support and urged them to begin preparations for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. He claimed that the situation in Punjab has deteriorated under the current regime, where dissent is being silenced and farmers’ lands are being forcibly taken. “Traders are disillusioned and the people of Punjab are ready to respond in 2027 by ousting these exploiters who have come from Delhi, ” he added.
