PATIALA:In order to facilitate the poor and needy people at their doorsteps, district administration Patiala organized Suwidha Camps at Patiala, Nabha, Samana, Rajpura and Ghanaur in Patiala district today.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Hans said that as per the directions of Punjab Chief Minister, S. Charanjit Singh Channi, a two days special campaign to provide the benefits of government schemes to the people of the state under one roof has been initiated, today.
These Suwidha camps were organised at Bahawalpur Palace in Patiala, Rotary Club, Nabha, Aggarwal Dharamsala, Samana and Mini Secretariat Rajpura, wherein a large number of beneficiaries visited the counters set up there to get redress their problems.
Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Hans said that Suwidha Camps would also be set up on second consecutive day i.e. October 29 at Nagar Panchayat Office, Bhadson, Fatehgarh Channan in Samana, Dhillon Palace, Sangrur Kainchian, Patran and Government High School near village Masingan.
SDM Patiala, Charanjit Singh while inspecting Suvidha camp at Bahawalpur Palace, Patiala, said that a number of people thronged the camp site and availed the benefit of the services provided there by various departments. He also disbursed certificates of benefits of pensions and other government schemes to the beneficiaries.
Expressing satisfaction over the services provided at the Suwidha camp, Niranjan Singh of village Tarain said that the decision taken by the Chief Minister to provide government schemes under one roof has benefited the beneficiaries to access all the schemes of the government.
Deputy Commissioner said that the issues taken up during the camps included Plot of 5-5 Marla, Pension Scheme (Old Age, Widow, Dependent, Divyang), Prime Minister Awas, Electricity Connection, Construction of Toilets in Homes, LPG Connections, Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna (Health Insurance Scheme) Cards, Ashirwad (Shagun) Scheme, Scholarships, SC / BC Corporation / Backfinco Loans, Bus Pass, Pending Mutation Case, MGNREG Job Card, Applications for Arrear Waiver Certificate of Power up to 2 KW, Pending CLU /Building Drawings etc.
During the camp, the Systematic Voters Education and Eloctarls' Participation (SVEEP) team set up awareness kiosk to create awareness among the people about the Voter Helpline app and registration of new votes and corrections in existing vote.
On this occasion, District Social Security Officer Varinder Singh Tiwana, Nodal Officer, SVEEP Gurbakhshish Singh Antal, CDPO Patiala Rural Rekha Rani and CDPO Sanaur Arvinder Singh Bhatti and other officers and employees were also present.
