Awareness was created through 'Lok Bhalai Rath' with the objective of extending the benefits of social security welfare schemes to the needy

GURDASPUR:Under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Mr. Mohammad Ishfaq, 'Lok Bhalai Rath' is being run in the district under 'Social Security Village Campaign' with the objective of giving the benefit of welfare schemes run by the government to the needy people in the district. , Which is going to the villages and making people aware.

Today the 'Lok Bhalai Rath' reached eight villages of Dhariwal block Sohal, Kalyanpur, Rania, Khunda, Jafarwal, Lohal, Clare Kalan and Doola Nangal and made the people aware about the welfare schemes through nook plays.

District Social Justice and Empowerment Officer Gurdaspur Sukhwinder Singh and Secretary District Red Cross Society Rajiv Kumar said that under the Social Security Village Program, public welfare chariots were being run in more than 100 villages for door to door delivery of social welfare schemes. And those who have been deprived of the benefit of welfare schemes can avail the benefits.
He further said that a special drive has been launched in the district to provide 100% benefits of social security schemes to the eligible beneficiaries.

This includes old age pension to eligible persons, widow pension, financial assistance to dependent and disabled beneficiaries, universal health insurance card, UDI card, ration card, labor card, financial assistance to pregnant women and employment and self-employment. Awareness is being created about loans etc. for employment generation so that they can avail the benefits of the scheme.
