At behest of Modi, Captain did ‘drama’ on agricultural laws in Vidhan Sabha: Bhagwant Mann

CHANDIGARH: The failure of the Punjab government for not been able to send the unanimously passed agriculture laws in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, to the President of India, was a result of the collusion between Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and the Governor, who were acting at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

This had exposed Captain Amarinder Singh's conspiracy to mislead the people of Punjab about these laws, on the command of PM Modi. In a statement issued from the party headquarters, AAP state president and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann said that the Captain-led state government had pretended to make a law by convening a special session of the Vidhan Sabha. He said that Captain Amarinder Singh was lying and had done this to mislead the people of Punjab and if there was any sincere concern for the farmers, he would have followed it.

"Captain Amarinder had said in the assembly that legal action would be taken against the black laws of the centre. He had spoken to the Advocate General of Punjab in this regard. Surprisingly, AG has such a large army of lawyers, but did nothing, " said Mann. He further said that Captain Amarinder Singh in collusion with the BJP was misleading the farmers of Punjab to do nothing against the centre's agriculture black laws, which according to the farmers were 'death warrants'. Taking a dig at the Governor, for acting at the behest of PM Modi and Amit Shah, Mann said that the former was refusing to give justice to the Punjab farmers at the order of Amit Shah.

Slamming Captain Amarinder Singh for betraying the farmers of Punjab, Mann said that in a bid to save his son from ED cases, Captain was working against the people of Punjab in collusion with Amit Shah. "Captain has been in favour of black laws since his support in the High Power Committee. Far from meeting the Prime Minister and the President regarding the demands of the farmers, he did not even meet the Governor sitting in his neighborhood, " he added.  Mann said that the Aam Aadmi Party was already exposing the hypocrisy of Captain government. Copies of the law to be introduced in the special session of the Vidhan Sabha convened by the government on farm laws were not even given to the MLAs earlier, who could read and consider it, which led the AAP MLAs to spend the night in the Vidhan Sabha, he added.

Mann said the MLAs had also staged a dharna in the assembly hall and after this the AAP had questioned the law enacted by Captain government, which was now proving to be true. "With fear of ED cases, Captain Amarinder is still using every possible means to suppress the farmers' movement. Captain is being misled by the government about the laws; his minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu has admitted that these laws have been implemented in Punjab, but Captain is still lying that the laws are not enforced, " he added. He said that Captain Amarinder Singh should not tarnish the honour of the post of Chief Minister for his son's infatuation, should leave the chair and stand by Modi-Shah directly.
