PHAGWARA: A 16-year-old girl has allegedly been lured away under the pretext of marriage in Bajwa village under Talwandi Chowdhrian near Kapurthala.
According to the complaint filed by Darshan Kaur, resident of Bajwa village, her daughter minor daughter went missing from their home on the night of August 29. The family had gone to bed after dinner, and when Kaur checked later in the night, her daughter was not in her room. Despite searching in and around the house, the family could not trace her.
On August 30, the family reportedly learned that Shinderpal Singh, a resident of the same area, had taken her daughter away by allegedly giving her false assurances of marriage.
Kaur has further alleged that several others were involved in the conspiracy, including Jagir Kaur (wife of Wazir Singh), Wazir Singh (son of Bakr Singh), Sandeep Kaur (daughter of Wazir Singh), Sonia (daughter of Wazir Singh), and Akashdeep Singh (son of Boota Singh).
Police have registered a case under section 363, 366, 120B of IPC on the basis of the complaint, and investigations are underway.
