3806 polling staff undergoes first rehearsal of polling process in kapurthala

KAPURTHALA:For smooth conduct of Punjab assembly polls in kapurthala on Feburary
20, the district administration today organised the first rehearsal
for polling staff in all 4 assembly segments under which 3806 polling
staff imparted training regarding polling process.

By following the covid protocol, the rehearsal was conducted in small
batches at different locations across the district.

Deputy commissioner cum District Electoral officer Deepti Uppal said
that 622335 voters would be able to cast their votes at 793 polling
stations.

Technical experts of NIC and Nodal officers of EVMs made practical
presentation regarding the use of EVMs and VVPAT to avoid any kind of
technical issues during the polling.

Deputy commissioner who visited the Hindu Kanya college kapurthala and
Guru Prem karamsar college Nadala , has asked the poll officials to
perform the duty with utmost dedication.

She also made it clear that the administration would take strict
action against the employees who applied to cut poll duty without any
solid reason behind.

Deputy commissioner also said that a medical board has been
constituted for medical examination of employees who applied for poll
duty exemption on medical grounds.
