AMRITSAR: In a historic decision, the Maharashtra Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, has approved a budgetary allocation of ₹94 crore 35 lakh 64 thousand for the grand celebrations marking the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of “Hind Di Chadar, ” Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji.
Giving details, Mr. Jaspal Singh Sidhu, Head of the Sikh Coordination Committee, informed that this sanctioned amount will be utilized by the Minority Development Department for organizing major martyrdom commemoration events in Nanded, Nagpur, Raigad, and other districts of Maharashtra.
He further stated that these ceremonies will be organized in association with Sant Samaj and the Head of Damdami Taksal, Sant Giani Harnam Singh Khalsa Ji, to convey Guru Sahib’s divine message of sacrifice, peace, faith, and humanity to the younger generations.
Mr. Sidhu said that this decision symbolizes the devotion and respect of the Fadnavis Government and the people of Maharashtra towards the Sikh community and the supreme martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji.
On this occasion, Sant Giani Harnam Singh Khalsa Ji (Head, Damdami Taksal & Sant Samaj), Prof. Sarchand Singh Khiala (BJP Spokesperson, Punjab), Jaspal Singh Sidhu (Chief, Sikh Coordination Committee), and Mr. Happy Singh (Member, State Minority Commission) expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Maharashtra Government. They lauded Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis and the Minority Development Department for their historic and respectful initiative in honoring the legacy of “Hind Di Chadar” Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji through this state-level commemoration.

Mr. Sidhu also added that in the same Cabinet meeting, three other major economic development corporations were approved — namely, the Parshuram Economic Development Corporation, Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Economic Development Corporation, and Shri Vasavi Kanyak Economic Development Corporation.
