Transgender voters are made aware of their right to vote

AMRITSAR: Guidelines of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Khaira and District Nodal Officer (Sweep) -cum-District Education Officer (Sec) Jugraj Singh Randhawa A Voter Awareness Program was organized in the local Haripura area under the leadership of Child Development Project Officer Mrs. Meena Devi to make the transgender voters aware of their right to vote and their fair use.

A special meeting was held with the transgender President Dimple Baba and his associates as per the pre-arranged program by the District Election Office.

During the meeting, Child Development Project Officer Mrs. Meena Devi said that transgender voters should cast their vote in the coming days at all costs so that they can exercise their constitutional right to vote in the forthcoming Assembly elections.

She said that every possible effort was being made by the administration to ensure the participation of all sections in the polls.

In another program Child Development Project Officer Smt. Khushmeet Kaur sensitized the transgender voters at Baba Sawan Singh Nagar in Baba Bakala Assembly constituency.

Supervisors Anju, Pooja, Kamla and District Sweep Team members Ashu Dhawan, Vinod Bhushan and Munish Kumar were present on the occasion.
